It’s Cuffin Season!

The hours of daylight are getting shorter, the temperatures are dropping, its no longer acceptable to wear all white so its safe to say its officially cuffin season. For those of you not familiar with the phrase cuffin season it refers to the time of year when folks enter so-called relationships during the winter months to ensure they are feed well, kept warm, and have someone to bring with them to the holiday gatherings. Recently I have noticed a lot of the blogs touching on dating, love, and relationships so I’m interested in learning what people first notice when the meet someone and what that means to them.

For me its a pretty simple within 10 seconds I have already made a decision if a lady is “exchanging contact information material or not.” After looking at her face and other obvious physical features I make sure her hair is tight and shoe game is right. Why? If a lady is a weave wearer and its bad or her shoes are leaning a little bit she probably needs a sponsor and I sho ain’t him!  So she passed the first test now I gauge how approachable she is by giving her a smile or wink when we make eye contact. Nothing is worst then seeing a beautiful women who can’t smile. If that goes well and I don’t see a ring on her finger I make my move.  Word to the wise everybody ain’t cuffin material.

Please comment: Are you the type to cuff or get cuffed? When cuffing what things do you look for?

    A wink tho?? lol

But I definitely find myself right back with the same boo-thang every winter. It’s like a bad habit we have. We use each other for cuddling (and other thangs) and someone to do fun stuff with. When the weather breaks, so do we. I’m over it, but the weather makes it easier to continue the cycle. lol

Mmmm yea…hide ya kids hide ya wife bc they will get cuffed too,it can happen to anyone…worst part of cuffing is being cuffed and not even knowing it #nobueno… However, all potential cuffers must have clean shoes and Im a sucker for a nice smile…buying me drinks does not up your potential for being cuffed or being the cuffer..

I’m def looking at the smile and shoes .A nice smile usually means a good sense of humor and you have one to deal with me. Plus nice shoes and being well groomed means you could potentially be introduced to momma (especially during cuffin season). Looks aren’t everything but they do help. Not mention if you open your mouth to speak and nothing comes out that even makes me think you might have some intelligence hidden in there somewhere…. keep it movin. Sounds picky but hey!

Pretty good read! You know it’s a proven fact that around this time of the year/season, that people become depressed due to many reasons, like having to bring to someone to the family functions/gatherings. I’ve heard some ppl even say that they would ‘be on the prowl’ looking for someone, maybe a potential boyfriend/girlfriend, just so they can get gifts/presents(which I think is totally NOT the best way of doing it). If I had to make a decision, I would rather be ‘cuffed-up’ w/ the possibility that it could turn into something long-term than to just be ‘cuffed-up’ and not knowing if you’ll ever see or come in contact w/ that person ever again…..

Its weird to me that, people would look to cuff or be cuffed only because it’s a certain time of year, potentially leading to something that’s only going to last a few months. I personally wouldn’t entertain that. Now, that’s not to say that I wouldn’t give a guy the time of day simply because I think he’s just in it to have someone to “cuff for the season, but I could only hope it’d be more than that. I’m a long-term “cuffee,” I prefer stability.

I’ve never been the cuffin season type of person. Before being in temporary, shallow relationships I’d rather just be by myself. I can feed myself, a blanket works just fine to keep warm, and I can bring my friends to holiday gatherings! lol…BUT to each their own. NOW if I was looking tho I need a man with a nice smile and fresh haircut who can hold a conversation and is easy on the eyes.

Great read. Its always good to be cuffed up every now and again. Now im not usually be on the prowl to be cuffed. However, if there were any guys that I would pay any attention he would definitely have to be educated, easy on eyes, respectful and on and on….

Just can’t be cuffed with any joe blow just to say “I’m cuffed”
